cyprus1998.jpg
Cyprus, 1998 - Taken by Margaret's father while on holiday. The disk-like object highlighted upper-left of the picture in the original has been enlarged 5x in the centre image, and an emboss filter has been applied to this image.

Runcorn, 2002 - This photo was taken while Margaret was experimenting with Solar Obliteration techniques. The large dark object was captured (although another feinter object- apparently faster moving - is seen in the original, but not on the scanned image). The sun was to the bottom-left corner, so the dark object is not obviously a flare thru the centre of the lens. Interestingly, when the emboss filter is applied, the object stands out in much greater relief than any other part of the image, and there is no splitting of the 'object elements'

Southport - February 2003: Another Solar Obliteration image. This curiously depicts a very similar-shaped object to the previous Solar Obliteration photo, but this time much feinter. This feintness is also reflected in the difficulty in detecting edges or solidity when applying filters. The section of the original image is above left, with the emboss filter applied above right.

Manchester Airport - February 2003

A curious 'rectangular light' unexpectedly snapped while at Manchester Airport. Contrary to what might be assumed, the photo was not taken from behind glass, so the light is not a simple reflection of a light behind the photographer. Applying filters has been inconclusive, as no obvious 'edges' or solidity of the light can be detected. Emboss filter gives the most curious results, as numerous elements in the image show light/dark split in different directions.
