‘연못 위에 떠다니는 얼음 원반은 외계인의 메시지?’
세계 각지의 호수·연못에서 접시 모양의 대형 얼음조각이 발견되고 있다．이를 두고 일부 과학자들과 UFO 연구단체에서는 외계인의 소행이라고 분석하고 있다．

캐나다에 본부를 둔 미스터리 서클 연구단체(CCC)는 최근 캐나다 밴프 국립공원에서 ‘아이스디스크’(얼음 원반)가 발견됐다고 발표했다．관계자는 “타원형에 직경은 15m나 됐다”고 밝혔다．

전문가들에 따르면 아이스디스크는 ‘미스터리 서클’과 비슷한 경우다．미스터리 서클은 국내 TV ‘그것이 알고 싶다’에서 심도있게 다뤄진 적이 있다．대부분 민가를 낀 밭에서 발견된다．그러나 아이스디스크는 인적이 거의 닿지 않는 오지에서 주로 발견된다．이것들은 대부분 종잇장처럼 얇으며 호수나 연못 위를 시계방향으로 회전한다．직경은 대개 10∼20m 정도다．

미 시사주간지 ‘선’은 최근호에서 아이스디스크에 대해 다각적인 분석과 의견을 내놨다．선지 자체조사 결과 올해에만 유럽과 미대륙 등지에서 87개의 아이스디스크가 발견됐다．러시아 페테르부르크의 신문사 기자이자 아이스디스크 전문가인 알렉산드라 쿠드리예브체프는 선지와의 인터뷰에서 “최근 시베리아 북부에서 아이스디스크가 발견됐다”며 “그러나 10여년 전에도 수차례 이에 대한 보고가 있었다”고 밝혔다．

일부 과학자들은 이를 외계인의 소행으로 보고 있다．이들은 “자연법칙을 초월한 창조물”이라며 “UFO,미스터리 서클과 연관이 있을 것”이라고 밝혔다．쿠드리예브체프도 “이는 무지한 지구인에 대한 외계인의 경고나 관심이 담긴 메시지로 보인다”며 “아직 정확한 의미가 확인되지 않은 만큼 하루 빨리 해독작업이 이뤄져야 할 것”이라고 말했다．

Canadian Ice Disk
A beautiful ice ring--or ice disk--has just been reported to the Canadian Crop Circle Research Network.
The circle appeared in Johnson Canyon in Banff National Park on January 2, 2000, but has just been reported
after the owner of the photo saw pictures of other ice rings in Canada.
The disk, slightly oval with smooth edges, was slowly rotating clockwise.
Slow rotation is a characteristic of Canadian ice rings and disks.
The disk was approximately 15 feet in diameter.

The Canadian ice ring phenomenon could be attributable to some sort of natural cause, except that it is only a few years old. The idea that the ice rings are human constructions is hard to believe, because some of them have been in very thin ice and well out of reach of land.

A Mysterious ‘Ice Circle’ Discovered in NE USA

The ‘Crop Circle’ Like Phenomenon Continues in 2003 By Ed Sherwood

On March 11th 2003 an ‘Ice Circle’, or ‘Ice Ring’, appeared in a private residents’ back yard pond in Norwalk, Connecticut, USA. Precisely etched into thin ice, ‘about 1/4 inch thick’, the mysterious circle was reported to measure about 25 feet 9 inches in diameter. It formed during the night, in a section of a tributary that feeds the Silvermine River in Norwalk, and amazingly, touched one side of the pond wall! Discovered by the owner at about 6:00am, after night temperatures fell ‘to about 16’ degrees Farenheidt, the circle remained frozen until later that afternoon, melting only after most of the ice around it had disappeared. No trees overhung the Ice Circle, and nothing unusual was reportedly heard or seen by the residents, or neighbours, in association with its creation
