나사의 마스 오디세이가 찍은 사진인데 머;; 저렇게 찍어놓고 본 사진이 미국의 유타주랑 비슷하다고 그런식의 내용이군요;

This is not a simple snapshot of Mars, but it is a view similar to what you might see out the window of an airliner flying over the Southwestern United States, scientists say.
이것은 단순한 화성의 스냅사진이 아니다. 하지만 당신이 이걸 본다면 비행기의 창문에서 미국의 남서쪽을 바라보는거랑 이 사진이랑 비슷하다고 생각할것이다.

      The new image was built from data collected by NASA's Mars Odyssey spacecraft. Space artist Don Davis is an expert on true-color renderings of planetary and astronomical objects. Davis used his own experience plus true-color Mars images from the Hubble Space Telescope, he performed a manual color balance to match more closely the colors of previous visual Mars observations. He also did some manual smoothing and other image processing to minimize the effects of residual scattered light in the images.

Davis는 행성과 천문물체 들에대한  true-color 번역(?!)의 전문가이다.(사진들을 보다 사실적으로 보정해주는 전문가로 봐야할거같네요)  Davis는 허블망원경으로 부터 얻는 화성 이미지들을 트루칼라로 보정하는 능력을 가지고 있다. he performed a manual color balance to match more closely the colors of previous visual Mars observations.그는 이전의 화성물체가 가지고 있는 색깔에 보다 더 근접하도록 색상을 조정하는 역할을 수행한다. 그는 또한 변형된것을 바로잡고 이미지들의 잔여산란광들을 최소화하는 작업을 한다.

      The view is of sunlit cliffs and basaltic sand dunes in southern Melas Chasma.

The basaltic dunes are commonplace on Mars but a rare feature on Earth. The rounded knobs and elongated mesas on the canyon floor show an erosional style as exotic as Utah's Bryce Canyon but wholly familiar on Mars.
이 사진은 southern Melas Chasma에 있는  볕이 든 절벽들과 현무암을 함유한 사구들의 사진이다.
현무암을 함유한 사구물질들은 화성에서는 흔한 물질이지만 지구에선 좀처럼 보기 힘든 물질이다.
둥글게 된 마디와 깊은 협곡 마루에 길게 늘어져있는 대지들은 화성과 친숙한 모습을 보이는 유타주의  Bryce Canyon 만큼이나마 이국적인 erosional style 을 보여주고 있다.

      The basaltic dunes are commonplace on Mars but a rare feature on Earth. 현무암을 함유한 사구는 화성에서는 흔히 볼수 있는 장소이나 지구에선 좀처럼 보기힘든 희귀한 곳이다. (물질로 잘못 번역했네요;;-_-;)

      출렁거린다는 내용은 안보이네여, 척박한모습을 묘사한 정도.....

      물이 아닐까여? 제생각엔 그렇게 보입니다;;;;

      우리가 원하는 설명은 위쪽의 절벽이 아니라 아랫쪽의 출렁거리는 물같은것에 대한 설명이란 말이다!!!
나사에서는 왜 신기한 현상에 대해서는 설명을 못하고 있는걸까!!!!!!

      밑에 출렁이는 것처럼 보이는 것은 바람이 불어 모래가 흩날리는것 처럼 보이는군요.....
